Membership 2017-18

The Southern Athletic Club membership year runs from 1 October to 30 September and our club membership for 2017-18 remains at $50.

Membership Benefits

Your Athlete and Junior Athlete memberships are excellent value and include the following:

  • Free Basic Athletics SA membership (which includes personal accident insurance) or $15 discount from any other ASA membership*
  • Eligibility for Southern Athletic Club end of season awards
  • A contribution to venue hire costs for track & field training
  • Invitations to club social events
  • Voting rights

  • Free entry to club events, including the Great Southern Half Marathon
  • Ad hoc free entry / discounts to other races, e.g. Salisbury Half Marathon & City-Bay

* not applicable for Junior Athlete memberships (athletes born on or after 1 January 2007) due to the minimum age requirements set by Athletics SA

Sports Vouchers for all Primary School Aged Athletes

The Sports Vouchers program is an initiative from the Government of South Australia that provides an opportunity for primary school aged children to receive a $50 discount on sports club membership/registration fees. The purpose is to increase the number of children playing organised sport by reducing cost as a barrier to participate.

To claim the $50 discount for your child’s Southern Athletic Club membership fee you should register under the “Junior Athlete with Sports Voucher” option then download a sports voucher, fill in your details and hand it back to Matt or Jason.  Simples!

Please note that only one voucher can be used per child each calendar year.

Southern Athletic Club Memberships

Registration for Southern Athletic Club memberships must be made through the Athletics SA online registration system. You will have the option to purchase your club membership on its own or alongside an ASA membership. Registration for SA Athletic League membership is made separately through the SAAL website.

Athlete / Rec Runner

 For training & competition group athletes and recreational runners born on or before 31 December 2006.

Includes Basic Athletics SA membership which provides personal accident insurance and eligibility to compete in all ASA championship events, including relays and 5000m & 10000m track championships. You can also enter Athletics SA track & field events for $30 per day of competition.
Junior Athlete (Half Year)*

Junior Athlete with Sports Voucher

 For primary school aged athletes who will be submitting a Sports Voucher to cover your $50 registration fee.  Please speak to Matt before registering if you also want to register for one of the Athletics SA memberships listed below.

SA Athletic League Memberships

SAAL registrations are required in order to compete at any SA Athletic League race meets. Registration for SA Athletic League memberships must be made separately through the SAAL website and costs shown below are in addition to your $50 Southern Athletic Club Athlete membership.
